distance = 12+4+1=17 km
displacement = 11.704 km
answer is coming from the pythagoras theorem

TheGeniusJoker: can u pls answer it with steps
chauhansaurav4ougayc: 12-1=11
TheGeniusJoker: I did not get you
chauhansaurav4ougayc: 12-1=11
chauhansaurav4ougayc: 04
chauhansaurav4ougayc: 11^2+4^2=displacement

Distance = 12km + 4km + 1km = 17 km

If the unit vectors along north and east is j and i respectively then
Displacement = (12(-j) + 4(-i) + j) km
= (-4i + 11j) km

Magnitude of displacement = sqrt(4^2 + 11^2) = 11.70 km
