On immersing a solid sphere in a cuboidal tank with base area 792 cm^2, the water level in the tank rose from 25 cm to 74 cm. What is the radius of the sphere? (Assume the value of π as 22/7.)

Answer:

21 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Base Area of Cuboid = 792 cm^2 (l x b)

Original water level in tank = 25 cm

New water level = 74 cm

Difference in water level = 74 - 25

                                         = 49 cm (h)

Let radius of sphere be R cm

4πR^3/3 = lbh

R^3 = 792 X 49 X 3 X 7 / 22 X 4

R^3 = 3^3 X 7^3

Thus R = 21 cm
