On immersing the brown coloured iron nails in blue coloured copper sulphate solution, they displace copper from copper sulphate solution and their colour becomes light green. What is this reaction?

CuSO4+Fe-------> FeSO4+Cu

Copper sulphate is blue in colour, and when iron nails are dipped in CuSO4 solution, the iron being more reactive than copper displaces it from the latter's salt solution. This is a displacement reaction and it's completion is indicated by the green colour of FeSO4 solution
