The length of tube affects the focal length of the Lense used inside it. If the length of the tube will be shorter then the Lense would be thicker and their focal length also be shorter just same as the present compound microscope and if the length of the tube will be longer then the Lense will be thiner and the focal length will also be longer, it means the length of the tube doesnt matter the magnification will be same but we get a good quality of vision in short tube than long tube due to short distance from object.
