16% of 1479 =
 \frac{16}{100}  \times 1479 = 236.64
show the original price =1479-236.64=1242.36

original price=1479-x×16/100
x=1479-16x/100
x=(147900-16x)/100
100x=147900-16x
100x+16x=147900
116x=147900
x=147000/116
x=1275rs
