Thus 12% of x

= 12/100 × x

According to the problem :

12/100 × x = ₹ 1158

⇒ 12 x / 100 = ₹ 1158

⇒ 12 x / 100 = ₹ 1158

⇒ x = ₹ 1158 / 12 × 100

⇒ x = ₹ 96.5 × 100

⇒ x = ₹ 9650
