On Monday Anu practised singing for 2 hrs 10min .On Tuesday she practised 1hr 40 mins .How much longer did she practise on Monday than Tuesday

Time she practised for on Monday= 2hrs 10mins
Time she practised for on Tuesday= 1hr 40mins
Difference between her practise times= 2hr 10min -1hr 40min
                                                                 = 30mins
While subtracting we can see that 40 is greater than 10, so we'll borrow 1hr i.e. 60 mins from 2hrs. So now we have 60+10=70 mins. Now when we subtract 40 from 70, 30mins will be left and 1hr from 1hr, 0 will be left. Therefore the answer is 30mins.
