Given :- On Monday morning Mr. Lalchand has 119 cups in

his shop. He sells 23 cups and just when he was

about to close the shop for the day he receives 55

new cups from his distributor. What percentage of his stock did he sell on Monday ?

Solution :-

→ Total cups in shop = 119

→ cups he sells = 23 .

so,

→ % of stock(initial) he sells on monday =(23 * 100) / 119 = 19.32% .

now,

→ cups left in the shop after selling 23 = 119 - 23 = 96 cups .

→ new cups received = 55

then,

→ Total cups in the shop = 96 + 55 = 151 cups .

therefore,

→ % of new stock he sells on monday = (23 * 100) / 151 = 15.23% .
