Let suppose that required number is x.

It is given that, if a number is multiplied by 5/9 and 5 is subtracted from it, obtained result is 10

According to the given condition:

\frac{5}{9}  \times x - 5 = 10 \\  \\ \rightarrow  \frac{5x}{9}  - 5 = 10 \\ \\ \rightarrow \frac{5x - 45}{9}  = 10 \\   \\ \rightarrow 5x = 10 \times 9 + 45 \\  \\  \rightarrow 5x = 90 + 45   \\  \\  \rightarrow 5x = 135  \\  \\  \rightarrow  x =  \frac{135}{5}  \\  \\  \rightarrow x = 27

Let's verify:

We supposed that required number is x and at last we found that value of x is 27 or required number is 27. Now, to verify that is our answer correct? we need to put value of x at the place x and have to make LHS = RHS

\rightarrow \frac{5}{9}  \times x - 5 = 10

\rightarrow \frac{5}{9} \times 27 - 5 = 10

\rightarrow\frac{5}{9} \times 27 - 5 = 10 \\ \rightarrow 5 \times 3 - 5 = 10 \\ \rightarrow  15 - 5 = 10 \\  \rightarrow 10 = 10

~~~~LHS = RHS ••••••Verified
