on placing a piece of aluminium metal in the solution of mercuric chloride it acquires a shinny silvey surface but when it is placed in solution of magnesium sulphate, no change is happened. explain.

because aluminium is more reactive than mercury so it displaces mercury from it's chloride solution whereas it is less reactive than magnesium sulphate due it which no change is happened.
