On placing a piece of zinc metal in the solution of copper sulphate, it acquires a reddish brown coating but when it is placed in a solution of aluminium sulphate, no change is observed. Explain.

Because the copper from the copper sulphate solution gets deposited on the zinc , but with aluminium there is no change because aluminium is more reactive than zinc

When zinc is placed in aluminum sulphate solution then no reaction takes place as zinc is less reactive than aluminum.
