On placing an inverted tumbler over a burning candle ,the flame extinguishes after some time,.Why?

on placing an inverted tumbler over a burning candle, the flame gets extinguished after sometime. This is because, all the oxygen of the air present in the tumbler has been used up by then and provision for more air is not present. It is because, oxygen is required for combustion.
