Answer:

Given

36 hours in a

day

So the clock will be of 18 hours

For full 18 hours the clock hand covers 360 deg

Therefore for 1hour the clock hand covers 360/18 =20deg

So for 14 hours it covers 14x20 =280deg

each hour has 90 minutes

So for 90min hour hand covers 20deg

So for 1min hour hand covers 20/90=2/9deg

Thus for 40 min hour hand covers 40x(2/9) =8.88 aprox 9

So the hour hand covers a total of280+9=289deg

Now for minute hand

For 90min minute hand covers 360deg

So for 1min it covers 360/90=4deg

Thus for 40min it covers 40x4=160deg

The approximate angle between the hands of the clock on FACE when the time is 14:40 a.m is

289 - 160 = 129 deg

Option c. 129 is the answer
