Length of the side of the base(square)=10cm

Height of the pyramid=12cm

As it is a right prism the line dropped

from the top of the pyramid falls on the

base making an angle of 90°

We can use the Pythagorean theorem

Slant height 2-base^2+height^2

Slant height ^2-5^2+12^2

Slant height=√25+144=√169-13

Total surface area=p*h/2+b

P is the perimeter of the base-4*10=40

H is the slant height=13

B is the area of a base=100

Total surface

area=40*13/2+100=520/2+100=260+100= 360

Total surface area=360cm^2

Lateral surface area-total surface area

area of base

360-100=260cm^2
