on putting a glass for our lighted candle the candle flame flickers and produce smoke why is this so?​

Because for combustion ( burning of a substance in presence of oxygen) oxygen is needed, On putting glass over lighted candle, the gas slowly becomes vacuum. So, smoke is produced due to decomposition of carbon.
