On Rahul’s birthday, his mother prepared many dishes for him. After having their meal, they found that many food items were left over. Rahul’s mother kept these leftovers in a air-tight container and refrigerate them.

(a) Food preservation prevents the growth of microorganisms, or other microorganisms, and slowing the oxidation of fats that cause rancidity.

(b) If the food is not refrigerated , then it may spoil easily .

(c) Refrigeration helps in preserving fruits and veggies by storing at low temperature to slow down decay and natural metabolic processes. Meat, fish product and precooked foods also have limited life because of enzyme activities, baterial attack and ageing.
