Let the total number of sweets be x

Now, according to the question.

x/(450 - 150) - x/450 = 3

⇒ x/300 - x/450 = 3

Taking LCM and then solving it.

⇒ (3x - 2x)/900 = 3

⇒ x/900 = 3

⇒ x = 900*3

⇒ x = 2700

So, total number of sweets were 2700.

Now, number of sweets each child got = 2700/300

= 9 sweets.

So, each child got 9 sweets.
