On rubbing the hands with each other hands get heated due to friction

Due to the irregularities on the surface of any body and wielding effect, the friction is produced which opposes the relative motion between them.

When we rub our hands with each other, friction comes into existence due to the relative motion between each hands. The frictional force produces heat. Here, the work done by hand is converted into heat as per Joule's mechanical equivalent of heat i.e W = JH.

Here J is the joule's constant.

Hence, the correct answer to the question will be friction.
