Answer:

The cost price of mobile = 1280 Rs.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

On selling a mobile for Rs.1216

                Mohan got lose  5%

here we need to find cost price of the mobile

let x be the cost price

loss percentage on x = 5%

         loss on mobile = \frac{5}{100}(x)

                                   = \frac{x}{20}

we know that  Loss = Cost price – Selling price

                 ⇒      \frac{x}{20}   =  x  -   1216

                 ⇒   x - \frac{x}{20}  = 1216

                 ⇒   \frac{20x- x}{20}  = 1216

                 ⇒  19x  =  24320

                 ⇒     x  =  24320/ 19 = 1280

the cost price of mobile = 1280 Rs.
