The cost price of the watch is ₹1350. (Option 2)

• Given data :

Loss amount when the selling price is rupees 1100 = Profit amount when the selling price is rupees 1600.

• Let,the cost price = ₹ x (Assume x as a variable to calculate the cost price of the watch)

• So,the loss amount in the first case :

= Purchasing price - Selling price

= ₹ x-1100

(In the loss deal,the purchasing price will be greater than the selling price)

• So,the profit amount in the second case :

= Selling price - Purchasing price

= ₹ 1600-x

(In the profitable deal the selling price is greater than purchasing price)

So,

x-1100 = 1600-x

x+x = 1600+1100

2x = 2700

x = 1350

•So,the cost price of the watch is rupees 1350. (Answer)
