Given that , when SP of the article is 4550 , then the Loss % is 9%.

Let the CP be x. Then ,
L = L% /100 × Cp
L = 9 / 100 × x
L = 9x/100

SP = CP - L
4550 = x - 9x / 100
4550 = 91x / 100
4550 × 100/91 = x
5000 Rs. = x

Hence , the CP is Rs. 5000

CASE :
If L % = 3.5% , then SP = ?
L = L % / 100 × Cp
L = 3.5 / 100 × 5000
L = Rs. 175

SP = CP - LOSS
SP = 5000 - 175
SP = 4825 Rs.
