Answer:

On selling an item at Rs.40 per kg a loss of 10% is incurred. If total loss of the seller is Rs. 80, then weight of items sold in kg is: 18 kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say weight of item sold = W kg

Let say cost Price of item = Rs C per kg

Sold at 10 % loss

Loss = (10/100)C = 0.1C Rs

Selling Price = C - 0.1C = 0.9C Rs

0.9C = 40

=> 0.1C = 40/9

Loss per kg = Rs 40/9

Loss for W kg = 40W/9

40W/9 = 80

=> W = 18 kg
