On sports day, if thirty children were made to stand in column, 16 columns could be
formed. If 24 children were made to stand in column, how many columns could be
formed​

I think the answer is 13.

Because if 30 children are made to stand and the number of column is 16. Then there are two children standing in one column (2x15) and one column is left extra. So, the column number comes to be 16.

Similarly, for 24 children (2x12) and one column is left extra which makes it 13.
