Answer :-

  • Option d) is correct.

  • The number is 75.

To find :-

  • The number.

Solution :-

Let the number be "x".

Then :-

  • \sf One-fifth \: of \: the \: number = \dfrac{1}{5} x

Subtracting 5 from one fifth of the number,

  • \sf We \: get \: \dfrac{1}{5} x - 5

It is given that :-

  • On subtracting 5 from one fifth of the number, the result is 10.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Therefore,

  \longmapsto \rm \dfrac{1}{5} x - 5 = 10

  \rm\longmapsto \dfrac{1}{5} x = 10 + 5

 \rm \longmapsto \dfrac{1}{5} x = 15

  \rm\longmapsto \dfrac{x}{5} = 15

 \rm \longmapsto x = 15 \times 5

 \longmapsto  \underline{ \boxed{ \rm x = 75}}

-----------------------------------------------------------

Hence :-

  • The required number is 75.

So, option d) is correct.
