On Sunday Bheem invited everybody to play carrom in his house. While playing, striker was not moving properly from one place to another. Everybody thought it is their bad luck. But Radha, one of the player, quickly got up and sprinkled some talcum powder on the board.
(a) Why Radha sprinkled some talcum powder?
(b) Can you give some other example which serve the same purpose?

she sprinkled the powder which here acted as a dry lubricant in order to reduce the friction of the carrom board......
oil or graphite powder applied in machinaries....
