on the 60 km straight road a bus travels the first 30 km with a uniform speed of 30 kmh -¹.how fast must the bus travels next 30 km so as to have average speed of 40 Km-¹ for the entire trip.

Average Speed = 

40 km/h = 60 km / x

x = 60 / 40 = 1.5 hr = 1 hr 30 min

V₁ = 30 km/h        D₁ = 30 km         T₁ = 30 / 30 = 1 hr

T₂ = x - T₂ = 1 hr 30 min - 1 hr = 30 min  = 0.5 hr      D₂ = 60 - 30 = 30 km

V₂ = D₂ / T₂ = 30 / 0.5 = 300 / 5 = 60 km/h
