On the annual day of Ken's school, its was planned to distribute some sweets equally among 98 students. But 28 of those students were absent that day. As a result, each of the student present received 4 sweets more. find the total number of sweets distributed.

let the no of sweets be x
then ATQ
x(98) = (70)(x+4)
98x = 70x+280
28x = 280
x = 280/28
x = 10 
so total no. of sweets distributed = 98*10=980
                                                              or
                                                          =70(x+4)
                                                          =70(10+4)
                                                          =70(14)
                                                          =280
