Earth's atmosphere is composed of about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 0.93% argon. The remainder, less than 0.1%, contains many small but important tracegases, including water vapor, carbon dioxide, and ozone. All of these trace gaseshave important effects on the earth's climate.
