Explanation:

Oxygen has atomic no.8 in the periodic table and is located in period 2 and group 17 of the periodic table of elements . In order to write the electron configuration of this element , we use the Noble gas preceding the periodic. In the case of oxygen , the Noble gas used is Heluim ( He )

Explanation:

solution of iii:-

Oxygen and the members of these groups have electronic configuration = 2, 6

i.e. they have 6 electrons on their outermost shell

Thus the element having such electronic configuration will be of the oxygen group {chalcogens}

solution of iv:-

Any noble gas elements have electronic configuration = 2,8

i.e. have 8 electrons in their outermost shell ( octet )

while for helium have duplet(2 e in outermost shell.....)

I hope it helps you......
