on the basis of interaction there are two categories of forces
Contact forces - the force occur when two objects are in contact.
example- Normal reaction, friction
Non contact force- interaction of two objects which are not in contact
not require to make contact
example- gravitational, magnetic electrostatic etc.

Basically, there are two types of forces, contact forces, and non contact forces. Gravitational forces, electric forces, magnetic forces, nuclear forces, frictional forces are some examples of forces.
