O2^2- means that oxygen has 2 extra elwctroms so, the electronic configuration will be- 1s2,2s2,2p6

According to MOT electronic configuration will be as follows ..
O- O-
sigma *2pz0
pie*2py2. pie*2px2
pie 2py2. pie 2px2
sigma2pz2
sigma*2s2
sigma2s2
sigma*1s2
sigma1s2
bond order = NB -NA/2
NB =no. of bonding electrons
NA = no. of antibonding electrons
bond order of O2^2- = 10-8/2
= 2/2
bond order=1
there is no unpaired electron in the configuration so ..it is diamagnetic.
