On the basis of origin, resources are classified into :

⠀⠀⠀• Biotic Factors

All the living organisms are classified biotic factors. The flora and fauna, fisheries, live stock and cattle.

⠀⠀⠀• Abiotic Factors

Biological non living materials and substances are termed as Abiotic Factors.

E.g., Land, Water, Air etc.

  • Wood when a part of a living system like the bark of a tree is said to be Biotic.

  • When the sad wood is cut for use, it is classified under Abiotic.
