Resource is anything that has the potential to satisfy human needs without harming the environment.
Resources on the basis of thier development can be classified into:
- Potential Resources
- Developed Resources
- Stock Resources
- Reserve Resources
Potential Resources :-
Potential resources are the resources which are found in a region but have not been utilised.
e.g., Wind Energy, Solar Energy, are available in Gujarat and Rajasthan and can be utilised in abundance, but have not been developed properly.
Developed Resources :-
Developed resources are resources which are being utilised and thier quality and quantity is known.
e.g., Water, Soil, Forests, e.t.c,
Stock Resources :-
Stock resources are actually the materials available in our environment but have not been utilised due to technological capabilities.
e.g., Use of O2 and C atom/molecule in CO2 molecule
Reserve Resources :-
These are the resources which are reserved for the future generation and can be utilised with the existing technologies.
e.g., Water in Dams, Forests, e.t.c,
