on the beach why do your legs sink in dry sand while it does not sink in wet sand?

because dry sand has space between them so our legs goes and fill the space between them and in wet sand there is water in between the space so our legs don't go under it

The source of difficulty is in sinking of the legs.
In the wet sand, the sand particles adhere to each other and jointly resist our weight, making our legs not to sink.
