  • Waning Gibbous Moon. This Moon can be observed after the Full Moon but ere the Last Quarter Moon.

The moon changes its size and new moon appear once after 29.5 days and shows different sizes which are as following (Starts from New moon):

New Moon: “New Moon” seems dark from Earth surface as Moon's orbit comes between sun and Earth.

Waxing crescent: It is the first phase of moon towards full moon as the Moon continues its orbit counterclockwise around Earth. A tiny sliver is illuminated in the moon.

First Quarter: It appears in the second week from the new moon. Only right quarter of the moon is illuminated as it faces sun.

Waxing Gibbous: Its size seems lsightly bigger than first quarter as more part of the moon is illuminated by sun.

Full Moon: It appears in the third week (starts form new moon). The Earth position is between moon and Sun and moon seems clearly visibe in its full size.

Waning Gibbous: This phase appear after full moon and the size of moon starts decreasing.

Last quarter: This phase appear in the forth week and left part of the moons is illuminated.

Waning crescent: This is the last illuminated size of teh moon towards new moon and seems smaller than last quarter.
