Answer :-

Let number of students are y .

we know that,

Dividend = Quotient * Divisor + Remainder.

so,

→ 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² + 7x - 8 = (2x² + 2x - 1) * y + (14x - 10)

→ 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² + 7x - 14x - 8 + 10 = (2x² + 2x - 1) * y

→ 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² - 7x + 2 = (2x² + 2x - 1) * y

→ y = 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² - 7x + 2 / (2x² + 2x - 1)

dividing by long divison method ,

2x² + 2x - 1 ) 8x⁴ + 14x³ - 2x² - 7x + 2 (4x² + 3x - 2

8x⁴ + 8x³ - 4x²

6x³ + 2x² - 7x

6x³ + 6x² - 3x

-4x² - 4x + 2

-4x² - 4x + 2

0.

therefore,

→ Number of students are = (4x² + 3x - 2) (Ans.)
