Red corridor is the collection of those districts in India suffering from the Naxalite or Maoist terrorism.

Districts in Maharashtra which are suffering the most from naxalism are as follows -

Gadchiroli
Chandrapura
Gondia

These districts are mainly tribal areas with majority of the population belonging to scheduled caste and tribes.

These districts suffer from illiteracy, overpopulation and poverty.

Terrorism has been defind as an application of violence or the threat to use violence with an intention to create panic in the society.  It may appear to use guerrilla tactis, but it differs from guerrilla warfare. Unlike the guerrillas the terrorist do not hold on to any territory it is called 'asymmetric warfare' because there is no pattern to the nature of violents attacks that are conducted. It is used to create panic in society by targeting the people who cannot defend themselves. Therefore the targeta are called 'soft targets'. For example, there would be attacks on buse,  trains, train or bus station, cinema theaters, market, mall etc. It is deliberate and has political motivations.
