Inspirational women of Pathankot- Sushila Chain Trehen

Pathankot has been full of prominent and inspirational women for many many years. One of them was Sushila Chain Trehen who was born on 1 July 1923 in Pathankot, Punjab.

She was one of the many Indian revolutionaries who fought for the freedom of our country against British rule. She was a teenager when she first witnessed the cruelty of the British police against the people of India. The event changed her life and from then till 2011, she spent each and every moment of her life towards the upliftment of Indian society.

She was very much inspired by other freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh. Sushila used to visit various villages in Punjab and motivated girls to become self-dependent and the importance of education.
