Answer

8.83 m/s²

Step by step explanation

Given that,

weight of the boy on the surface of earth = 400N

weight of the boy on a mountain peak = 360N

Formula to use

W = mg

As we know that mass remain constant irrespective of the place of an object and acceleration due to gravity on the earth surface is 9.81 m/s²

So,

1)

400 = m(9.81)

m = 40.77 kg

2)

360 = (40.77)g

g = 360/40.77

g = 8.83 m/s² on the mountain peak.
