Solution :-

we have ,

→ Total members = 40 .

now, Out of 40 members, (3/8) of the members do the hurdles .

So ,

→ Members who do hurdles are = (3/8) of 40 = (3/8) * 40 = 15 members .

Now, we have given that, members who do the hurdles, 4 /5 also do the long jump .

So,

→ Members who do the long jump = (4/5) of 15 = (4/5) * 15 = 12 Members . (Ans.)

Hence, 12 members do both the hurdles and the long jump .
