It is famous saying that united we stand, divided we fall. This topic can be explained through a story :

There were three bulls living in a jungle who were best friends. There was also a lion who wanted to eat the bulls but couldn't do so as they were three and he was one. They would defeat the lion easily.
He thought of a plan. His plan was to divide and rule, which means he will separate all of them and will kill them one by one.
He went to the bulls and said each one of them that the other bulls were saying bad stuff about them. The foolish bulls blindly trusted the lion rather than asking their friends first.
The moment they went their separate ways the lion pounced upon them and ate them.
