Answer:

Leo takes  30 minutes to get to the park

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the data in the given question,  Here we have to find the time taken by  Leo to get to the park

Given that, Leo  takes 12 minutes to bike 2 miles to his school from his house. At the same rate Leo bike to the park that is 5  miles away from his house.

In this question there is two situation travelling situations. But in both cases speed are same.

Therefore find speed from initial condition.

Distance from house to school, D_{1}=2 miles

Time to reach school , t_{1} = 12 minutes

Speed=\frac{Distance}{time}

S=\frac{D_{1} }{t_{1} }

Substitute the values in the speed equations,

Then,

Speed,  S=\frac{2}{12} miles/min

Here we get the speed , Therefore calculate time taken by  Leo to get to the park using this speed.

Distance from house to park, D_{2}=5 miles

Speed,  S=\frac{2}{12} miles/min

Time to reach park, t_{2} =\frac{Distance}{speed} =\frac{D_{2} }{S }

Substitute the values in the time equations,

⇒  t_{2} =\frac{5}{\frac{2}{12} }

⇒  t_{2} =\frac{5}{2}×12=5×6=30 minutes

Hence,

Leo takes  30 minutes to get to the park
