Answer:

The Ansaris were treated unequally. Their dignity was violated because they felt humiliated. Many people, who were ready to give rent to their apartments to the Ansaris, quickly changed their minds after hearing their names. She said that no non-vegetarians were allowed despite the fact, that the Ansaris could smell fish cooking next door!

They were treated unequally because of thier names as they were of different religion.

I am not sure if you are talking about class 7 NCERT book of civics but if you are then your answer is-

The ansari's were treated unequally on the basis of their Muslim caste. Every time they told someone their surname, people made excuses for not giving them a house. They had to struggle a lot and also were asked to change their surname by their property dealer as he thought their surnames were the only reasons not allowing to get them a house.

Hope it helps
