on the basis of the melting point of the glycerides it is categorised into fats and oils
if the glyceride having high melting point then it is known as fats. they are generally derived from animals and are solid in state. fats are saturated
it glycerite having low melting point then it is known as oils they are generally derived from plants and a liquid in state. they are unsaturated
