On what basis organisms are Classified?

Hey there !

All living organisms are classified into groups based on very basic, shared characteristics. Organisms within each group are then further divided into smaller groups. These smaller groups are based on more detailed similarities within each larger group.

Basically,

mode of nutrition,habitat,body type,genus & species,origin etc.

Nutrition--like the primitive organisms use different methods to gain nutrition like saprophytic,photosynthesis,parasitic and whereas others use autotrophic and heterotrophic.

Habitat--algae,fungi are mostly found in marshy,swampy and moist areas where as aquatic in water and we humans on land.

Body type--some are acoelomate,coelomate and some are pseudocoelomate.

Genus and species--we all organisms have a relation of genus.

Origin--every organism has an origin i.e. from where it came and how it developed
