According to the Puranas, it is considered as the birthplace of the monkey Raj Hanuman. Because of the King of Kapi, the father Kesari of Hanuman Ji was called Kapiraja. An ancient temple of Hanuman Ji is established in the city of Hampi, Bellary district of Karnataka.
