Answer: Relative humidity is the ratio of the actual amount of water vapour present in a given volume of air at a given temperature to the maximum amount of water vapour that the same given volume can hold at that temperature.It is expressed in percentage

for example : if a given volume of air is holding 25 gm of water vapour at a given temp when its actual capacity is 50 gm then the relative humidity will be:

25/50 x 100 = 50percent

so basically, in order to find relative humidity we need to know  the actual amount of water vapour present at a given volume in a fixed tem and the maximum amount of water vapour it can hold at the same volume and temp
