fuse work on the heating effect of current. fuse wire have a certain limitation and when current passes its limitation the fuse wire melts which leads to the break down of circuit.

Fuse works on the heating effect of electric current. Wire of fuse have some resistivity to tend the heat of current when current supply increase and the wire will melt. That's how fuse works on heating effect of electric current.
