loudness of a sound depends onamplitude of the wave. louder sound corresponds to a wave of largeramplitude. 1)loudness is proportionalto the square of the amplitude . 3)loudness this depends on the surface area of the vibrating body

The loudness of softness of a sound depends upon it's amplitude. The amplitude of the sound wave depends upon the force with which an object is prepared to vibrate.  A sound wave spreads out after it leaves its source of production and as it moves away from the source its amplitude and its loudness decreases.

Loudness depends upon amplitude, intensity of sound and sensitivity of the ear.
