The quality of population depends upon the literacy rate, health of a person indicated by life expectancy and skill formation acquired by the people of the country. The quality of the population ultimately decides the growth rate of the country. Illiterate and unhealthy population are a liability for the economy

Population in a particular area depends on the following points:

1.Fertility of land:If the land in that particular region is fertile, it will become favourable for agriculture. Population will grow there because of agriculture.

If there will be rivers in that area, industries will be developed there. So people will be provided with job opportunities. Therefore people will start settling nearby.

Topography:If there will be a hilly or mountainous region there will be lack of transportation therefore there will no good basic facilities like food, shelter, clothing. Therefore, population there will be low.

Availability of water, availability of minerals, availibilty of jobs are some basic factors on which population depends.
